Resident Professional Board Members
The PaintersChatRoom has assembled
a team of Resident Professionals that are ready, willing and
able to answer questions and add to the already powerful source
of information that those who participate on the Message Board
supply. While most of these professionals have a product or
service to sell, they will never self-promote on the board.
If you have a need for any of the products or services that
they offer you can purchase them directly from them and if you
are a member in the PCRA, you will qualify for discounts. They
will add their knowledge to posts and answer specific questions
in the areas that they possess the most expertise in. They cover
areas such as Marketing, Human Resources, Pricing, Insurance,
Financial and other areas.
Mark Havens
President NAPP
Mark Havens has been in the paint
industry for over twenty years. During this time he operated
a commercial and residential paint contracting business that
focused primarily on providing residential repaint and commercial
maintenance painting services. In conjunction with his contracting
business, for three years Mr. Havens owned and operated a full
line paint and decorating store.
Mr. Havens has acted as a paid
consultant to municipal, county and school district facility
managers. Part of his work involved developing and implementing
scheduled maintenance painting programs, budgets, operational
guidelines for establishing in-house painting departments, as
well as conducting initial and ongoing staff training and development
for in-house painters.
Along with his paint industry
businesses, during the 1980s Mr. Havens was the Founder and
President of two franchised companies. His work involved developing,
refining and training the franchisees of his companies in the
operational, sales, marketing and management aspects of the
businesses.
Active in state and local politics
since 1992, Mr. Havens has acted as a paid Political Advisor
and Campaign Manager for State House and Senate candidates.
From 1992 through 1996, he served
on the Colorado Governor's Small Business Task Force. He has
also served on and chaired numerous school district accountability
committees. Most notably, Mr. Havens served as Chairman of the
Superintendent's Committee on Special Education; a committee
charged with enhancing educational and vocational opportunities
for at-risk and special needs students.
In late 2001, Mr. Havens began
operating and expanding the National Alliance of Professional
Painters (NAPP). The primary focus of NAPP is to assist professional
painting contractors develop more profitable paint contracting
businesses.

Gary Epstein
President and Founder, PNL, Inc.
1-800-PAINTJOB
Gary is the president and founder
of PNL, Inc., managers of the 1-800-PAINTJOB Group. He has also
been a professional painting contractor for 25 years and is
the owner of 1-800-PAINT-JOB of Long Island, Inc. Since he has
been "out of the bucket" for many years now, Gary
has had the opportunity to focus his attention on the "nuts
& bolts" of the business side of painting. While the
production side of the business is critical, Gary knows first
hand that the driving force behind a financially successful
painting company is in its marketing efforts. It is this wealth
of direct experience in the industry that led Gary to create
PNL, Inc., which is dedicated to raising the bar in the painting
industry. In his free time Gary is a dedicated family man who
enjoys an occasional round of golf.

Warren Bachman
Vice President, PNL, Inc.
Warren is the vice president of
PNL, Inc., managers of the 1-800-PAINTJOB Group. Fairly new
to the painting industry, Warren's professional experience comes
from a diverse background in sales and marketing. His successful
efforts in retail, wholesale distribution, financial publishing
and the high-tech industry have given him a unique perspective
of how the sales and marketing process works. In Warren's last
position before starting PNL, Inc. he was working with a number
of Fortune 500 companies and their investor relations departments.
He knows that the key to success in any industry starts with
good communication. Warren is excited now that he has found
his permanent home in partnering with Gary Epstein to establish
PNL, Inc., which is dedicated to raising the bar in the painting
industry. In his free time Warren is a gigging musician and
an avid golfer.
